SWAN 46 – mast height and shipping height
Dear Tom, please find the requested information as follows:
46 Mk I, I = 17.7 m, draught 2.5 m. (Katface has the tall rig)
Mast height over water 19.1 m excluding antennas
Shipping height 4.66 m, with deck gear removed 4.37 m
46 Mk II, I = 18.31, draught 2.7 m
Mast height over water 19.7 m excluding antennas
Shipping height 4.93 m, with deck gear removed 4.47 m
Pls note that there are also some rigs with I = 19.2 m, Scheel keels with 1.75 m draught, centerboard keels with 1.7 m draught, and some modified Mk I keels with 2.2 m draught. If shipping height with pulpit is close, bow down position may help. There are also modifications done by owners. Kind regards, Lars

Hi Tom, As I am aboard, I took a look at my original factory drawings. The mast measurements that you ask for are not given. There are also differences between MKI And MKII and many MKI owners had a taller MKII mast fitted. My boat s a MKII and just measuring off the drawings the height from waterline to mast top looks like 19.5m, although I always thought the mast was 20m, but I guess the Pont of fixing it to the keel is below the water line From the drawing of the hull and keel the measurement given from the bottom of the keel to the top of the highest deck fitting (I think this is the pul-pit) is 4.9m, again there are variations between MKI and MKII, and mine is the deep keel version. I will refer all this to Lars, for more accurate data, but I hope this helps if you are one side of the bridge and the truck is waiting the other side 🙂 Regards, Paul

Do you have the mast height over the water, (for bridge clearance), for a Swan 46 with standard mast? What about the total heigh of the boat without the rig, (for truck transportation)? Best Regards, Tom (Katface)
